Beginning Knitting I
September 9 & 16, 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm

Instructor: Karin Bennett

Cost: $20.00

Learn to knit continental style (or just brush up your skills) while you make a dishcloth. Cast on, knit, increase, decrease and bind off are covered in this two part class. The pearl stitch is covered in Knitting II (will be offered Sept. 30th).Sweet Pickin's Club

 

Sweet Pickin's Mystery Quilt
2nd Tuesday of each Month, starting September 14,
10:00 am OR 6:00 pm

Instructor: Kate Laskowski

Cost: $60.00/year

This is the perfect quilt to use up that stash of fabric that you have collected. Small or medium size prints for all the piecing and a medium large print for the outer border would work best. Be sure that the background is lighter and the rest of the fabric is medium to medium dark to make sure you have enough contrast to see the piecing. Bonus project and recipe each month.

 

Quilting 101
September 24, October 15 & 22, 6:00 pm - 9:00 pm

Instructor: Sarah Greider

Cost: $50.00

Learn how to create beautiful quilts starting with the basics. Work on a throw sized rail fence quilt as you learn about fabric selection, tools, rotary cutting, the perfect ¼” seam and more. Sewing machine and basic quilting supplies are required.

Twister Class

 

Twister Class
September 25, 9:00 am - 12:00 pm

Instructor: Sarah Greider

Cost: $20.00 + template

Do the “twist” with your fabric! A specially designed template works the magic with 5” or 10” squares. You can choose to make either a table runner from 5” squares or a lap quilt from 10” squares.

September 30, 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm

Cost: $20.00

Continue your knitting journey by learning the purl stitch. You will work on a more complicated dishcloth to practice. Knitting I is a prerequisite.

Points of Pride Wall Hanging

 

Points of Pride Wall Hanging

Cost: $35.00 (includes the pattern, $0.50 material fee to instructor)

In this class you will learn not only paper piecing but curved piecing. Your new skills in foundation and curved piecing
will pay off on a star-studded wall hanging or you could even make a bed quilt. Tips and tricks prove it’s possible to master these easier-than-they-look techniques.

 

Prairie Women's Sewing Circle
3rd Tuesday of each month, Starting October 19, 6:00 pm

Instructor: Kate Laskowski

Cost: $35.00

In this class you will be making 5 mini quilts and one lap quilt PLUS bonus projects. This club was designed to use Civil War reproduction fabrics. The club features quilting history in the form of anecdotal stories of what life was like for “Prairie Women”. Another feature of the club is the “make-do” quilts. The club runs for six months.

Margo’s secure zip-top closure safely nestles 1” from the top edge of the bag. Along with the zipper the purse features: shoulder length fabric handles, 2 handy outside plus 6 inside pockets to keep you organized.

Clubs


All of our clubs are FREE to attend. You may join at any point in the year and everyone is welcome, no matter your skill level.

 

English Paper Piecing Club
1st Wednesday of the Month, 10:30 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.

English paper piecing is a truly portable form of quilting. This is the perfect method for making the Grandmother's Flower Garden pattern, Tumbling Blocks, Dresden Plate and many others. Come and work on the project of your choice or find help in getting started. We will offer a tutorial for the first class for anyone interested in getting started.

 

Knitting Club
NOTE - moving to 1st FRIDAY of the Month, 1:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m.

Bring your current knitting project or we can help you get started. It is sure to be an enjoyable afternoon spent making new friends and learning all the tips to knitting. This club is lead by Karin Bennett.

 

 

 

 

 

General Class Policies

  • Pre-registration and payment is required to secure your spot in all classes. You will receive a class supply list with your registration. Payment may be made by telephone with a credit card, or in person at the shop with cash, check or credit card
  • Register and pay for a class and you will receive a 10% discount on items from the required supply list. You must mention this discount at the time of purchase. Students in Quilting 101 will receive a 20% discount on the purchase of rotary cutter, ruler and mat. Discounts on items from your class supply list are only valid through the last scheduled class time.
  • Minimum of 3 students per class unless noted otherwise. If a class is full, you can sign up on the waiting list in the event a cancellation occurs.
  • Failure to attend your class or give adequate notice of cancellation (seven (7) working days) will result in loss of class fee. You may send a replacement in your place.
  • If we must cancel a class due to low enrollment, illness or other cause, you will be notified and your class fee will be refunded.
  • Due to copyright laws, patterns, books and handouts cannot be shared or photo-copied.
  • If a sewing machine is required for class, please be sure that it is in good working order and that you are familiar with its operation. Each machine is different and our instructors will not be familiar with the operation of all machines.
  • PLEASE arrive at least 10 minutes prior to class start time to set-up. We will begin on time as a courtesy to the instructor and the students who arrived and are ready on time.
